Ground floor opportunity for a talented Business Development Manager with an entrepreneurial outlook and track record of growing sales to join a growing company - six figure income potential! Our Merrimack Valley-based client, an established manufacturer of scientific & technical instruments for the water quality industry, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. SUMMARY We are looking for an experienced sales individual with water quality industry knowledge to expand our presence in the market. This person will build sales from existing accounts and set up new accounts. All sales are done through a worldwide distribution/OEM network. Having enthusiasm to be part of a growing company, and the willingness to work hard to achieve its growth potential are paramount. KEY RESULTS 1. Increase gross sales per distributor/OEM.
2. Add distributors to under-represented geographic areas.
3. Coordinate communications between Company and distributors. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Establish and maintain relationships with distributors/OEMs.
2. Respond to sales leads and RFQs and follow through to completion.
3. Schedule regular visits and or calls with distributors to review performance, gather input and conduct product training.
4. Build database of end-users to whom marketing department can address.
5. Provide sales forecasts, by product type, for the upcoming fiscal year.
6. Attend trade shows to strengthen existing relationships with distributors.
7. Analyze competition to understand strengths and weaknesses.
8. Understand the setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of company instrumentation. QUALIFICATIONS - Excellent technical, organizational, communication, and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to resolve complex problems accurately and in a timely manner. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS Salary will be a combination of base pay $50-$60k plus commission based on sales performance; the successful candidate will have the potential to make six figures. Compensation and benefits package is negotiable. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years experience in the scientific instrumentation market. Ideal candidate will have experience working for either a manufaturer/supplier or retail/dealer company in the water quality industry. EDUCATION
